Best of Landscape Architecture profession and LI Insurance Services come together for annual celebration
LI Insurance Services shared the spotlight with some of landscape architecture’s leading professionals at the LI Awards 2015.
As sponsors of the Design Medium Scale Private award category, our warmest congratulations go to LDA Design (pictured), which received the highly commended award for Battersea Power Station pavilion pop-up park.
“The ambition of these projects is hugely impressive and we were thrilled to be associated with such a prestigious event again. Our congratulations go to all finalists and winners of the various categories.” – LI Insurance Services director Martin Jackson
We also extend our wishes to BD Landscape Architects, which won the highly commended award for London South Bank University public realm at the ceremony. It was hosted by New York urban revitalisation strategist and public radio host Majora Carter at the Bloomsbury Big Top.
The judges said the design of LDA’s Battersea Power Station pavilion and pop-up park project “goes further than an average temporary scheme for a sales-centre. The planting design has been well thought through and the events lawn is functional, as it should be.”
BD Landscape Architects were highly commended in the Design Medium Scale Private category for ‘revitalising’ the London South Bank University public realm, improving connections and legibility.
The judges said: “The design makes positive use of previously underused and fragmented land on the site, and is a highly commendable transformation of urban space.”
LI Insurance Services director Martin Jackson said: “Sometimes we take the landscape in which we live and work for granted and these awards highlight some of the amazing projects going on around us.
“The ambition of these projects is hugely impressive and we were thrilled to be associated with such a prestigious event again. Our congratulations go to all finalists and winners of the various categories.”
